SCHOLARSHIP FOR GLOBAL UGRAD 2014 FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

The Office of Culture and Information (PAS) of the US Embassy in Hanoi and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City are seeking applicants for the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD). Students in the first year of the third year of Vietnamese universities will be able to demonstrate leadership through academic results, community contributions as well as extracurricular and extracurricular activities. Overview of the program

The Global UGRAD Scholarship Program is sponsored by the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State. Students selected will study for one year or one semester without a degree from a US university. The program is designed to provide excellent opportunities for international students to study and study in the United States.

The program will provide scholarships to approximately 64 students from East Asia and the Pacific (Myanmar, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Thailand). Lan, and Vietnam), starting in August 2014 or January 2015. There are two types of scholarships, one full year scholarship (about 10 months) and one semester scholarship (about 5 months). In addition, in some cases students who do not meet English standards will be offered 2-4 weeks of English language tuition in the United States before commencing their official program.

In order to maximize the opportunity for students to make the most of their opportunities to interact and study with US teachers and students, students who choose to participate in the Global UGRAD program will be enrolled in a regular university program. choose from the training program of the receiving school. To ensure that students will succeed in the new academic environment, the schools will also provide specific and detailed guidance on how to study and write essays, critical thinking, time management, and how to take notes. , how to study and take the test. Students will live in a dormitory with American students.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in 10 community hours each semester. In addition, students who receive full year scholarships will have the opportunity to practice. The internship program will be related to the student's future career and / or career prospects.

Students must return to Vietnam after completing their studies in the United States.

Candidate criteria

Candidates will be selected based on their leadership, outstanding academic performance, community contributions, and extracurricular activities. Choice of education, ethnicity, religion or gender. Applicants who meet the following conditions may apply:

Be a full-time, second-year and third-year (or fourth-year) student in a full-time university.

At least one semester in Vietnam after completion of study in the United States.
TOEFL score on paper minimum 550 or TOEFL on internet minimum 80, or minimum IELTS score of 6.5.
Having excellent academic results, the nearest semester average of 7.5 or higher.
Actively participate in community and extra-curricular activities inside and outside the school.

After submitting online, applicants must submit the following papers to the address provided below:

1. Application form for the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program completed and signed (original)

2. University transcripts with school stamp (with notarized English translation)

3. Three letters of recommendation from the teacher, including one high school teacher from where the applicant has attended (with English translation)

4. A copy of the notice of the high school graduation result (notarized English translation)
